Jon-Paul, or J-P as he likes to be known, is a financial adviser (FSP195605) and is giving advice on behalf of Willowgrove Consulting Limited the financial advice provider.
J-P believes that life is more than paying the mortgage and insurance while raising the kids; life is about living. It is this philosophy that drives him to identify the most suitable insurance policies for each of his individual clients through completing detailed insurance risk assessments.
J-P has four children aged from primary school to mid twenty's, and recently a grandfather too . As such, he certainly understands the pressures that being self-employed and having parental and family responsibilities can bring.
Brought up in a household where owning and operating your own business was the norm, J-P has been exposed to a wide variety of business opportunities and structures.
In 2016 and 2017 J-P was nominated for PAA Insurance Adviser of the Year and was one of only two confirmed finalists in 2016 and one of three confirmed finalists in 2017.
The 2016 nomination was a great achievement for the first year nominated for this category after the previous year's award of the PAA New Life Insurance Adviser of the Year 2015 from the New Zealand Professional Adviser Association.
This recognises that since 2000 when J-P started being involved within the financial services industry, he has continued to grow and develop his experience and skills within the financial services industry.
In 2019 J-P was diagnosed with a severe lung condition, one that slowed him down a bit, that involved accessing the very products he advises for clients, giving J-P an insight into claims from the inside that many advisers do not have.
With 18 months of medical challenges, including Covid arriving, J-P has gained a full recovery and is medically better than he was before being ill. It's a long story, just ask about the Lego if you want to know more ;)
